Oomi has completed the acquisition of the business operations of Lumme Energia
The corporate acquisition between Oomi and Lumme Energia has been completed, and Lumme Energia is now part of Oomi. The merger strengthens Oomi’s position as a Finnish diversified growth company. In the coming years, Oomi will continue to seek strong growth in electricity retail as well as new services and industries.
The combined operations of Oomi and Lumme Energia began on 1 January 2026. As of that date, Lumme Energia’s consumer and corporate customers transferred to Oomi as Oomi customers. At the same time, the business operations and organisations of Oomi and Lumme Energia were integrated.
The merger will not affect the customer contracts of Lumme Energia or Oomi, their terms, conditions, durations or prices, and will not require any action from the customers.
During the transition period, Lumme Energia and Oomi will continue to operate in parallel, but all services will be transferred under the Oomi brand in 2026. The Lumme Energia brand will be phased out over the course of 2026.
Oomi continues its growth as a challenger in the energy market
The acquisition stems from Oomi’s growth strategy, which focuses on offering competitive products and services as well as a better digital customer experience to a wider range of customers.
– The business acquisition and merger was completed as planned, and we welcome our new colleagues and Lumme Energia’s customers to Oomi. We will continue to be a challenger among the major players in the market, offering customers a wide range of everyday services that are tailored to their individual needs. We will continue to seek strong growth in electricity retail as well as in new services and industries. Our goal is to be the customer’s first choice in all the markets in which we operate, says Tuomas Oksanen, CEO of Oomi.
According to Oksanen, the acquisition of Lumme Energia is not just a merger of two companies, but a shared opportunity to grow and build something new.
– By combining our strengths, we will be in an even better position to develop services that make customers’ everyday lives easier. This means smoother customer service, better digital solutions and entirely new services for customers, while breaking traditional operating and service model, Oksanen continues.
The energy market and customer behaviour are changing rapidly, and the green transition, technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping the market at an accelerating pace. This requires the ability to respond to change quickly. The transaction provides stronger capabilities to do so and ensures that Oomi can implement its growth strategy in an agile and efficiently scalable manner.
