Electricity prices have at times been several times higher than usual. What is exchange electricity?

The Nord Pool electricity exchange is a trading platform for electricity supplied to power outlets. Nord Pool is Europe’s largest trading platform for physical electricity, where the hourly exchange electricity price is determined. Exchange electricity, also known as spot electricity, is electricity sold at market price, and we provide it with our Oomi Active contract. The price of exchange electricity changes every hour, and each of the twenty different European regions has its own price. The price is determined separately for each region, and Finland is one of these regions. The price set by Nord Pool is also the price that electricity vendors, such as Oomi, pay for the electricity they buy.
