New terms of electricity sales enter into force on 1 December 2025
Oomi will adopt the updated Terms of Electricity Sales (SME2024) recommended by Finnish Energy for all our customers as of 1 December 2025. These terms have been in use for new contracts since 1 April 2025, and they will now also apply to customers with electricity sales contracts valid until further notice.
For fixed-term contracts, the new terms will take effect after the current fixed-term contract period has ended.
At the same time, we will be updating Oomi's contract terms to reflect the new terms of electricity sales. The updated terms and conditions will enter into force on 1 December 2025 and can be found at oomi.fi/terms.
The change requires no action on your part. The changes to the terms will enter into force automatically and your contract will continue normally as a continuous contract.

What changes?
The new electricity sales terms include primarily linguistic and structural clarifications. The terminology has been aligned with other contract terms and the updated Electricity Market Act. Legal references have also been updated, and individual section references have been replaced with general references to applicable legislation.
The key change concerns electronic communication: in the future, customer messages will primarily be sent electronically. These messages can be delivered either by email or via an electronic service channel.
Going forward, we will be sending customer messages electronically
We are switching to electronic delivery of customer messages. Under the new terms of electricity sales, customer messages can be sent to the customer's email or our e-service instead of by post. This means that from now on, you will receive the messages specified in the terms and conditions electronically:
- contract confirmations
- notifications of price changes
- notifications of other changes to the terms and conditions
- other messages mentioned in the terms
- offers when your fixed-term contract is ending
Electronic customer communication does not include invoices, payment reminders or disconnection warnings. You will continue to receive your invoices according to your current billing method. There will be no changes to your billing.
Update your contact information
If you have provided your email address, you will now receive customer messages in a convenient and environmentally friendly way. Please make sure that your contact information is up to date.

Changes to terms of electricity sales
The general terms of electricity sales have been updated as part of a sector-wide renewal. The changes are made due to amendments in legislation and industry practices, and the need to update outdated contract and pricing arrangements. Minor changes have also been proposed to the terms (e.g. changes to the wording), which do not affect the substance of the contractual relationship.
