Does your power plant produce more electricity than you need? Would you like to sell your surplus electricity to us? If you produce more electricity than you can consume, you can sign a small-scale production agreement, whereby we commit to purchasing the electricity you produce at a fair price.

A small-scale production agreement can only begin once the network operator has established the place of use and the seller is aware of the place of use number.

New small-scale production agreements concluded with Oomi after October 1, 2025, will be subject to quarter-hour pricing, whereby the credit will be calculated based on the spot price determined every 15 minutes. Small-scale production agreements concluded before October 1, 2025, will continue to be priced on an hourly basis until 31 March 2026. From April 1, 2026 onwards all small-scale production agreements will switch to quarter-hourly pricing.

Oomi Microgeneration Plus is Oomi’s small-scale production agreement for consumers

Oomi Microgeneration Plus is an agreement for you if you have a valid electricity sales agreement with Oomi at the place of consumption of the small-scale production site and would like to sell your surplus electricity to us. No basic fee or margin is charged for the agreement.

Are you an Oomi Microgeneration customer without an Oomi electricity contract?

From 1 July 2026 onwards, Oomi will only conclude new small-scale production agreements with customers who have an Oomi electricity contract. Existing agreements called Oomi Microgeneration *) will remain valid until further notice as before, and you do not need to take any action to continue your agreement.

*The agreements are intended for customers who do not have a valid electricity sales agreement with Oomi.

Price and terms of agreement  

We will pay you the quarter-hourly price for surplus electricity generated by you in the Finnish price area of the Nordic electricity exchange Nord Pool. The actual quarter-hourly prices for exchange electricity can be found on the website of the Nordic electricity exchange Nord Pool. You can also monitor exchange electricity prices on OmaOomi.

No basic fee or margin is charged for the Oomi Microgeneration Plus agreement. You can sign an Oomi Microgeneration Plus agreement when you have a valid electricity sales agreement with Oomi under the same name. Existing Oomi Microgeneration agreements have a basic fee of EUR 2.94/month and a margin of 0.49 c/kWh (prices include VAT 25.5%).

The purchase and pricing of small-scale production only applies to systems with a nominal power of less than 25 kW. For higher-power systems, the matter will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Prerequisites for a purchase agreement for small-scale generation

  • Your production facility is connected to the distribution network
  • Applies only to systems with a nominal capacity of less than 25 kW
  • Both the small-scale production agreement and the electricity contract with Oomi have been or will be concluded under the same name.
