Product-specific conditions for consumers, Oomi Active, 2.11.2026
The terms shall be in effect as of 2 November 2026.
These product-specific terms are part of the customer’s contract with Oomi Oy (hereinafter ‘Oomi’). Oomi’s general terms and conditions also apply to this contract.
Oomi Active
The continuous Oomi Active contract has a changing energy price that is based on the quarter-hourly price of electricity for the Finnish price area as published by the Nordic electricity exchange (Nord Pool AS). In these terms and conditions, a ‘quarter-hour’ is a period of fifteen (15) minutes. The quarter-hourly cost of electricity is the consumption for that fifteen-minute (15 min) period multiplied by the electricity price for the corresponding fifteen-minute (15 min) period. If the meter at the metering point does not yet support quarter-hourly metering, instead measuring electricity consumption on an hourly basis, the hourly consumption is divided equally into four (4) fifteen-minute (15 min) periods. The average electricity price shown on the invoice is the cost of the individual quarter-hours of the month added together and divided by the amount of energy consumed during the month. The quarter-hourly energy prices are not broken down on the electricity invoice. Customers can check that their billing rates are correct via the OmaOomi service.
In addition to the quarter-hourly spot price, the invoicing includes the vendor’s margin (c/kWh) and basic fee (€/month) as well as value-added tax. The vendor’s margin and basic fee are as declared during the signing of the contract and as confirmed. The customer will be notified of any changes to the margin and basic fee no later than one (1) month before the change comes into effect.
Quarter-hourly prices based on the quarter-hourly price of electricity for the Finnish price area as published by Nord Pool AS are an essential part of the nature of an exchange electricity contract. One of the characteristics of exchange electricity is that the price of electricity can vary significantly between daily metering periods, depending on supply and demand. The quarter-hourly changes in the energy price under the Oomi Active contract do not constitute changes to the price or contractual conditions of which the customer should be informed in advance (Terms of Electricity Sales SME 2024, Section 8.2).
Price locking
Oomi Active electricity contracts include a free price locking feature that allows customers to fix their electricity price, either in part or in full, for a pre-determined, binding period.
If a customer has fixed their electricity price under a price locking scheme, the consumption-based adjustment described below in these terms and conditions will also apply to the pricing of the customer’s electricity during the fixed-price period.
A customer may fix the price of electricity for a period of at least one (1) month and no more than twenty-four (24) months.
The price locking options set out by Oomi are available for customers to view on Oomi’s website and in its mobile app. Customers can choose their preferred price locking option and fix their electricity price for the price locking period specified by Oomi via the OmaOomi service. The customer is not obliged to choose any price locking option.
If a customer has fixed their electricity price, either in part or in full, the electricity contract becomes a fixed-term contract at the time the fixed price is confirmed and remains in force as a fixed-term contract from the time of confirmation until the end of the final price locking period. During the price locking period, an electricity contract may, contrary to the norm, only be terminated in accordance with Section 2 of Oomi’s general terms and conditions (Start, duration, cancellation and termination of the contract) and on the exceptional grounds mentioned in Section 10.2.5 of the Terms of Electricity Sales (SME2024; a material change in electricity consumption in the circumstances specified in the section).
Once the final price locking period has ended, the electricity contract will automatically continue in accordance with the prices and other terms and conditions of the original continuous electricity contract.
Customers may not cancel any prices fixed for a specific period of time. However, the Oomi Active electricity contract is subject to the statutory 14-day right of cancellation, in accordance with Oomi’s general terms and conditions. If a fixed price has been set during the electricity contract’s cancellation period and the customer cancels the electricity contract, and thereby also the fixed price, and the supply of electricity has commenced at the customer’s express request during the cancellation period, Oomi is entitled to charge the customer reasonable compensation for the service already provided. The amount of reasonable compensation is calculated on the basis of the amount of electrical energy supplied to the customer and the price of electricity specified in the contract.
If a customer breaches the contract by terminating it before the end of the fixed-term price locking period, Oomi is entitled to charge the customer a termination fee corresponding to the direct financial loss incurred by Oomi, and which is determined in accordance with the criteria set out in the general terms and conditions regarding the contractual penalty for the early termination of a fixed-term contract. Upon request, the customer shall be provided, without delay and free of charge, with information on the amount of the payment prior to termination. Exercising the statutory 14-day right of cancellation within the cancellation period does not constitute a breach of contract, and no termination fee will be charged.
How the price of electricity is determined in the context of a fixed price
The customer can fix the price either in full (100 per cent), by half (50 per cent) or not at all.
If the customer has not agreed on any fixed prices, the price of electricity is determined on the basis of the spot price.
If the customer has fixed 50 per cent of the price, 50 per cent of the price of electricity is determined on the basis of the spot price and 50 per cent in accordance with the fixed price.
If the customer has secured 100 per cent of the price, the price of electricity is determined entirely on the basis of the fixed price.
If the customer has fixed the price in part or in full, the consumption impact specific to each location of use, as described below, will be added to or deducted from the fixed prices in proportion to the percentage of the price that has been fixed (50 per cent or 100 per cent).
During the price locking period, the price of the Oomi Active contract consists of four components: 1) the monthly basic charge (€/month), 2) the fixed price for electricity (or the spot price for non-fixed electricity) (c/kWh), 3) the consumption impact (c/kWh), and 4) the supplier’s margin (c/kWh).
If the customer has fixed in 100 per cent of the price, the price the customer pays for their electricity is determined by the sum of the fixed price for electricity (2), the consumption impact (3) and the supplier’s margin (4).
During the price locking period of the Oomi Active contract, the consumption impact portion is also invoiced in addition to the basic charge, supplier’s margin and fixed energy price. The supplier’s margin is determined in accordance with the terms stated and confirmed at the time the contract is made, regardless of whether the customer has fixed the price of electricity. The consumption impact varies each month based on the customer’s quarterly electricity consumption and the hourly prices of exchange electricity, which is why it is not fixed.
The consumption impact (c/kWh) is determined based on the Finnish regional per-quarter-hour price of electricity (c/kWh), as published by the Nordic electricity exchange (Nord Pool AS), and the customer’s quarter-hourly consumption (kWh).
The consumption impact is dependent on the distribution of the customer’s consumption between the more affordable and expensive quarter-hours. The consumption impact refers to the difference between the average price weighted by the customer’s consumption and the unweighted average price of electricity on the exchange.
The consumption impact (c/kWh) is calculated as follows:
A/B – C, where
A/B = Consumption-weighted average price in the invoicing period (c/kWh), where:
A = Consumption for each quarter hour of the invoicing period multiplied by the exchange price of the quarter hour in question (i.e. the Finnish regional Nord Pool Spot price). The resulting costs are tallied (c).
B = Total energy consumption in the invoicing period (kWh).
C = Average price of exchange electricity in the invoicing period (c/kWh).
The consumption impact increases or reduces the price of electricity paid by the customer (c/kWh) compared to the fixed price because the price of electricity listed on the invoice is the fixed price + the consumption impact. The consumption impact is not known until the invoicing period has ended. Customers can check that their billing rates are correct via the OmaOomi service.
If a customer has fixed 50 per cent of the electricity price, the consumption impact is applied to 50 per cent of the electricity supplied.
The fixed invoicing price of the contract depends on the price of exchange electricity as regards the consumption impact. The price of exchange electricity varies by quarter hour, and customers have the opportunity to lower the price of their electricity by focusing consumption on the more affordable days and quarter hours. If consumption mostly takes place during the more expensive quarter hours, the consumption impacts will increase the invoicing price compared to the fixed price of electricity specified in the price locking confirmation. If the same amount of electricity is used every quarter hour of the month, the consumption impact will be zero.
The price of exchange electricity can vary greatly by the quarter hour and month.
Restrictions
In the event of exceptionally substantial or rapid fluctuations in market prices, or any other reason beyond Oomi’s control that materially affects the functioning of the electricity market or Oomi’s ability to hedge against manage risks, Oomi reserves the right to:
– amend the fixed-rate options and their validity periods until the customer has selected a price locking option;
– restrict the number and availability of price locking options offered to customers; and
– limit the number of times a customer can choose price locking options for each price locking period.
These rights are applied on the same basis to all customers using the price locking feature.
Oomi regularly sets its price locking options in line with market prices and Oomi’s electricity procurement conditions. However, in individual cases, Oomi may choose not to specify a price locking option or not to implement price locking, if there is a justified reason relating to the customer’s solvency, creditworthiness or other similar customer-related grounds, of which the customer is notified.
If fixed prices confirmed to the customer cannot be fulfilled for reasons beyond Oomi’s control, or if they are cancelled as a result of actions taken by a party beyond Oomi’s control, or if a clearly identifiable error has occurred in the pricing of the fixed prices, the fixed prices set by the customer shall not be binding to Oomi and Oomi shall notify the customer of such an occurrence without delay. If a pricing error has resulted in a clearly incorrect fixed price that is disadvantageous to the customer, the customer is entitled to cancel the fixed price in question by notifying Oomi of this without delay upon discovering the error.
By accepting the electricity contract, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions and to Oomi using electronic means of communication when communicating about the price locking feature. Once the customer has entered into an electricity contract, Oomi will send the customer price locking confirmations via email, text message or other electronic channels used to implement the price locking feature. Oomi shall provide customers with information on price locking options in an appropriate format, such as by sending a link to a website where the price locking options are displayed at the specified time.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details, such as their email address, mobile number and other contact details, are always correct and up to date.
The price locking feature is an additional feature available to customers free of charge, and it may be temporarily disabled in the event of technical issues or maintenance, for example. Furthermore, Oomi may at any time cease to offer the price locking feature with regard to new fixed prices. Oomi’s decision to discontinue the price locking feature will not affect the customer’s existing fixed prices, which will remain in force in accordance with the originally agreed terms until the end of the price locking period.
